Selena Gomez's Latest Anthem 'Single Soon' Celebrates Freedom

Selena Gomez has unleashed her latest track, "Single Soon," and it's a vibrant, catchy anthem celebrating the joys of single life. The song dropped at the stroke of midnight on Friday, marking an exciting release for the artist's fans.

The song's upbeat and electrifying dance performance captures the essence of embracing being single. Selena Gomez had been teasing her followers for weeks before the official release of "Single Soon," creating anticipation among her dedicated audience. She teased the song with a series of pictures online just a week prior to its release. Additionally, she offered a sneak peek of the lively and cheerful pop song to her fans the day before the release.

In the music video accompanying the song, Selena portrays a scenario in which she ends her relationship with her boyfriend and embarks on a fun-filled night out with her girlfriends. Dressed in a sparkling party dress and shimmering shoes, she revels in the freedom to do as she pleases.

The music video opens with a message from Gracie, Selena's half-sister,

advising her not to worry about boyfriends. The video transitions to Selena, elegantly attired in a long silver dress, approaching a desk to jot down notes on a sticky note. The visuals then shift to rapid shots of Selena posing before a mirror while adorned in a vibrant purple fur coat. Scenes of her enjoying drinks and dancing with friends at a bar follow, presumably celebrating her newfound single status.

The video concludes with Selena playfully winking at the camera and asking, "Well, who's next?"

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Selena Gomez confirmed her ongoing work on a new album and announced the release date for "Single Soon."

"Y’all have been asking for new music for a while. Since I’m not quite done with SG3, I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that’s perfect for the end of summer. SINGLE SOON. August 25th. Presave it now," she shared on her social media.

Selena Gomez also shared a series of behind-the-scenes snapshots from the making of "Single Soon." Her fans can anticipate her fourth album, which follows up on 2020's "Rare." Although she dropped her all-Spanish EP "Revalación" the following year, she hasn't released a full album since "Rare."

Listeners across various social media platforms have praised both the song's lyrics and its music video, lauding Gomez's carefree and joyful portrayal.

The music video and audio for "Single Soon" are now available on all major platforms. According to Billboard, Selena has also made guest appearances on a few sporadic singles since her last complete album, including Rema's 2022 hit "Calm Down." She also released a standalone track, "My Mind & Me," in conjunction with her documentary of the same title last year.

This music news coincides with Gomez's recent announcement of the Rare Beauty Impact Fund, underscoring her commitment to philanthropy.

Aside from her musical endeavors, Selena Gomez can also be seen in the third season of "Only Murders in the Building," starring alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short. The new season boasts additional star power with Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd joining the cast.
